Dr Greta has joined Woolooware Family Medical Practice!

She welcomes new and existing patients to see her there.

Dr Margarethe Sears, ‘Greta’ has been calling the Shire home for the last 12 years. Originally from Austria, Greta completed her medical training at The University of Vienna in 2011.  After relocating to Australia Greta has spent time in both busy metropolitan and rural hospital & GP settings in QLD and NSW. Greta enjoys the variety of General Practice with a special focus on: Womens Health, Antenatal care, Paediatric and adolescent health, contraception, and fertility.

She has worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals in Sydney including The Sutherland and St. George Hospital as well as Liverpool Hospital.

Greta holds the Diploma of Women’s Health through the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and offers Antenatal Shared Care with The Sutherland Hospital. She is certified to remove and insert contraceptive devices such as hormonal IUDs (Mirena/Kyleena) and hormonal implants (Implanon).

Greta enjoys the complexity and wide range of presentations that comes with General Practice as a specialty. From antenatal care to paediatrics, and later adolescent health challenges, the continuity of care is something she finds rewarding. She looks forward to knowing all her patients well, and finds listening to the stories of her patients a unique privilege.

Outside of work, Greta enjoys Pilates and spending time outdoors with her three children.
